On October 1, 2022, Microsoft updated the security of Outlook email.  This enhancement may affect mobile devices using email clients other than the Microsoft Outlook app to access college email.  To ensure uninterrupted service on your mobile devices use the following knowledge base article, Setting up Outlook on your Mobile Device (iPhone and Android).  As always, please stay vigilant by keeping all device and software updates current.
October was National Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Because Cybersecurity is so important, we are going to leave this information up for November! Please read these great tips to help secure your privacy and information!

October was national Cybersecurity Awareness Month!  Please review the security tips below which are based on recent social engineering and phishing threats.  Threat actors are hoping you are busy, stressed, and not paying attention. Please take the time to ensure that messages and requests are valid.  IT appreciates your continued partnership in reducing risk and protecting both your and  TTC’s sensitive data!

Security Tips:
  • Verify all unexpected email and voice messages with the sender through a separate email message or phone call – threat actors are sending phishing messages pretending to be from an instructor or the school.
  • Be suspicious of any unexpected, urgent message that requests you take immediate action (examples: change your password, call a phone number, send a text message, buy gift cards)
  • Scrutinize sender email addresses carefully, especially when viewing work or school emails from your phone.
  • Be alert to fake calls pretending to come from the IT Helpdesk, Microsoft, AT&T, Banks, Amazon, etc. asking you to divulge login credentials or other sensitive data.
  • Use caution with messages containing links to files on Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive, including fake file attachments pretending to be invoices or employee/student documents.

What's my username?
Your username is normally your first name and your last name, all one word, all lower case (Ex: susanworks).
There are exceptions.
If your username is an exception, which means it has up to a five-digit number after your name (Ex: susanworks4572), this number was included in the acknowledgement letter you received from the Admissions office after you applied to Trident Technical College.
You CANNOT change your username.

I’ve never logged in before, what's my password?
Your password is originally set to 'Aa' plus the last six numbers of your social security number plus '$' (Ex: Aa######$), with ###### being the last six numbers. You will be required to change this temporary password the first time you log in.
